Brother is the best!
I have had a Brother Multi-Function printer/scanner/fax at my office for 4 years. The thing is great! We then bought a small Brother monochrome laser printer for our reception desk... flawless!
Meanwhile, we have had numerous, top name color laser printers and all have had problems and had terrible customer service experiences.... So I bought this as a replacement.
I don't think I'll ever buy another printer except a Brother. Output is typical for a toner-based color laser, but I'm happy after the disastrous experience I've had w/ my 'top-name-brand' wax-based color laser printer.
For the few times a month when I need near photo quality output, I just use a Kodak inkjet. For everything else, the Brother is GREAT!

Good Solid Color Printer- Upgrade Firmware!
Great printer but heavy with a big footprint in my home office.
Major Tip - Download Latest Firmware! Printer showed toner low after 150 copies with the starter toner. Called Brother to complain and they suggested a firmware upgrade and the toner warning disappeared. I printed about 900 mixed color/mono copies before black toner went dead. Don't let it tell you toner is low after just 100 or so pages.
Toner is a bit pricey but compatibles should become more available soon.

High quality prints, high price consummables
I've had this printer for about 3 months now in a home network.
Things I like:
1. Very compact for a color laser
2. LED seems to use less power than the Dell 3100cn that it replaced. Light does not flicker when the printer comes on.
3. Solid build quality
5. Quick start up time ~5 seconds
6. Very high quality text and graphics. People, this is not a photo printer. It's not design as such, so don't give it less stars for this reason.
7. Network setup is totally brainless. Brother gets better and better in in this regards. No problems what so ever.
8. Doesn't have much of the ozone smell that is common of many laser printers.
Thinks I don't like:
1. Toners don't last very long. I replace the toners in my Dell once a year, I'm already buying another toner for this printer after 3 months. Brother toners are also relatively expensive.
2. Drum only last 15,000 pages.
In summary, I got this printer for 0 shipped and it's worth it at that price. There are many good virtues, but be prepared to pay dearly for commsumables.
